The Arya Vaishya, also known as Arya Vysya or Komati, is a Telugu-speaking Indian caste with deep-rooted cultural and religious traditions. Orthodox Komatis adhere to rituals outlined in the Vasavi Puranam, a sacred text dating back to the late medieval period. Their revered deity, Goddess Vasavi (Kanyakamba), is honored as the Kuladevi (family deity) of the community. The Komatis are further classified into two distinct sub-sects: the Gavara Komatis and the Kalinga Komatis.
